Lisa Colson is a GIS and Imagery Specialist with USDA’s International Production Assessment Division (IPAD) of the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). She coordinates with a team of developers and other analysts to develop and improve upon IPAD‘s decision support systems, including the Global Agricultural and Disaster Assessment System. She uses GIS and remote sensing skills to advise upon the technical use of these resources, review map graphics, provide training on ArcGIS or custom in-house applications, and contribute spatial products to U.S. trade policy discussions. Ms. Colson has 10 years of experience as a geographer and another 10 years of experience with policy communications in international development. She received a M.A. in geography from The George Washington University.
